Lactofen 240G/L EC is a selective post-emergence herbicide of aryloxyphenoxypropionate. Its working principle is to inhibit the activity of acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase) in weeds and block fatty acid biosynthesis. After being absorbed by the leaves, the agent is transmitted to the growth point, resulting in the obstruction of the formation of meristem cell membranes, stopping the growth of young shoots, young leaves and roots, and eventually the weeds gradually die due to the inhibition of cell division.
Lactofen 240G/L EC is suitable for broad-leaved crop fields such as soybeans, peanuts, and cotton. It is mainly used for post-emergence stem and leaf treatment to effectively control annual grass weeds (such as barnyard grass, foxtail grass, crabgrass, goosegrass, wild oats, etc.). Its selectivity comes from the difference in metabolic rates between crops and weeds. It is safe for broad-leaved crops, but sensitive to grass crops such as corn and wheat. Weeds stop growing 3-5 days after application, and the whole plant dies in 7-15 days. The best application period is when the weeds have 3-5 leaves. Care should be taken to avoid drifting to gramineous crop fields, and it should not be mixed with hormone herbicides.
