Flumioxazin 480G/L SC is a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor herbicide. Its working principle is to inhibit the activity of protoporphyrinogen oxidase in plants, resulting in the accumulation of protoporphyrin IX. Under light conditions, protoporphyrin IX reacts with oxygen molecules to generate singlet oxygen, which triggers cell membrane lipid peroxidation, causing cell membrane rupture and leakage of contents, and eventually causing weeds to lose water and die.
Flumioxazin 480G/L SC is suitable for dryland crops such as soybeans, corn, peanuts, and cotton. It is mainly used for pre-seedling soil sealing treatment to prevent and control annual broadleaf weeds (such as Amaranthus retroflexus, Purslane, Chenopodium album, and Abutilon) and some grass weeds (such as Crabgrass and Setaria viridis). The agent is highly safe for crops, but it is sensitive to some cruciferous vegetables and should be avoided from subsequent planting. It is suitable for use in no-till fields or before sowing after land preparation. The effective period is about 30-60 days, and the dosage needs to be adjusted according to the soil moisture conditions.
